I have been a longtime fan. You are a great Entertainer. And I do mean Entertainer and not just Singer. Your audiences always go away feeling good. I just bought your latest CD and it plays like a greatest Hits CD before the songs have even had air time. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the music and the entertainment over the years.

I just purchased the CD 'Water and Bridges' and just LOVED it !! I have been a Kenny Rogers fan for many, many years and he has never sounded better ! I am wearing out the CD. I do graphics and logos and listen to him as I am working. Thank you Kenny !!!!

I just listened to your new CD, Water & Bridges.  I thought ”Back to Well” was excellent, but this is way beyond that!!  I am so impressed with the sound of Water & Bridges, it is sometimes haunting, sometimes “slap in your face country” and sometimes extremely thoughtful.  I felt that “Back to the Well” was under utilized in that there were many songs on there that could have been commercial hits, but with one I hope the backing of Capitol Records will promote “Half A Man” and “The Last Ten Years” and “The Petition”.  By the way I also love “I Can’t Un Love You” and the video is awesome!!  Your new look is right on the money and since I have been a fan for more than three decades, I have enjoyed seeing how you have reinvented yourself.  Great job!!!

Congratulations Kenny – you hit a home run with this CD!!  Thanks for the autographed copy.  I hope I hear many of the songs on the radio real soon!!

The next release off Kenny's new album, Water & Bridges, has to be "Calling Me". His duet with Don Henley is incredible! This song is a sure #1 hit!  Whoever thought of putting these 2 legends together was a genius. They sound great together and the song is perfect. I thought Kenny's duet with Tim McGraw on his last album was great also, but somehow I don't think it ever was released as a single. That was a huge shame. I certainly hope the people who make these decisions don't make the same mistake by not releasing "Calling Me". The duet and the song are way too special and I think radio stations across America could not ignore this song. I think the song would obviously make a great video as well. Take care and keep up the awesome career!

The Gambler continues to hold all the cards.

Still a consummate entertainer and storyteller after 40-plus years in the music business, Kenny Rogers makes listeners feel like they're right in his living room. Those qualities and more were on full display during a rare Inland Empire appearance Thursday night at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.

It's been awhile since Rogers' last chart-topper (1999's "Buy Me a Rose"), but he maintains a steady -- if low key --presence on country radio these days. In recent months, the veteran country superstar performed "Islands in the Stream" on TV with Dolly Parton when it was named Country Music's No. 1 Duet of All Time by the CMT network. He and Lionel Richie did an episode of CMT "Crossroads" and a new studio effort ("Water & Bridges") is due in March. First single, "I Can't Unlove You" is currently receiving respectable airplay.

Anyone who has seen Rogers live will be familiar with his patented stage routine (where he pretends to cringe at the audience sing-a-longs or finds a bored gentleman and offers him money for every hit he can identify).

No matter how many times you've seen the shtick though, Rogers' good-natured humor never gets tiresome.

Backed by a slick eight-piece band (the lone female musician played fiddle and cello), the 67-year-old singer opened the sold out show with a rocking "Love or Something Like It." Later, he joked about seeing older fans shocked by the sudden blast of noise. Indeed, this was no ballad fest.

Casual fans expecting a full-on hit parade, didn't exactly get one. That was a surprise, considering Rogers has a new compilation in stores next week ("21 Number Ones"). A little over half of the 17-song, 70-minute set was devoted to genuine Rogers standards. But diehard enthusiasts could revel in several fine obscurities, including the twangy "If You Want to Find Love" and his uplifting 1997 John Hiatt cover, "Have a Little Faith in Me." A pair of tunes from 2003's "Back to the Well" were standouts.

The easygoing bluegrass-flavored title track found Rogers seated on a stool, flanked by a fiddler and mandolin player who added supple backing vocals. On the fun "Owe Them More Than That" -- a honky tonkin' ode to Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings that features Tim McGraw on disc -- Rogers sang a faux duet with a cardboard cutout of McGraw as a keyboardist triggered the voice of Faith Hill's hubby.

"Through the Years," driven by lush keyboards, received a rousing response as did the jaunty "Daytime Friends" and romantic "Rose." Following "Coward of the County" and "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town," Rogers quipped, "I've had an incredible career singing about dysfunctional families."

The home stretch was worth the price of admission alone. Footage from "The Gambler" TV movies was projected on screens as Rogers began his signature tune while seated and bathed in shadowy light. Next came the video to Coolio's 1998 update of the tune. "Lady" was chilling as ever and Rogers proved his pipes were still in working order on some wavering notes.

Finally, "Islands" closed the evening on a jubilant note and tambourines were tossed to the crowd.

Mr. Kenny Ray Rogers,

The CMT special with you and Mr. Richey was a true blessing to my heart. My girlfriend kept laughing at me because she said I smiled through the whole show. I guess the reason is because my two favorite singers were on television and the chemistry and love between the two of you was truly divine. The both of you are kindred and blessed spirits. I love to sing the ballads both of you have recorded. God Bless you,

Michael W.

Just wanted to send a note to Thank Kenny Rogers for his dedication to the music. I watched with great pleasure the CMT Cross-Roads program with Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie.  It was such a great show it made me cry and laugh!  In fact I watched it twice the night it aired!!

I went out the next day and bought the 42 Ultimate Hits of Kenny Rogers.  I am 38 years old and remember falling in love with Kenny as a young child and a teenager! I want to thank Kenny for teaching me how to fall in love.  His music taught love.  My husband makes fun of me for loving Kenny so much. I told him he should thank Kenny for teaching me how to fall in love and keep the love in my heart!

Thank you Sweet Music Man!  You’re a hell of a singer!
