Kenny Rogers inducted long-time friends and tour mates the Oak Ridge Boys into the Country Music Hall of Fame during the Country Music Hall of Fame 2015 Medallion Ceremony this evening (Oct. 25) in Nashville, Tenn.
Rogers spoke about his close friendship with group members Allen, Richard Sterban, Joe Bonsall and William Lee Golden, then turned the microphone over the Oaks. As inductees in the Modern Era Artist category, they all reminisced at length about their careers.
"In a lifetime and in a career of incredible things, this is the most incredible thing that's ever happened to the Oak Ridge Boys," Joe Bonsall reflects. "We run our group as a family, trying to be honest, like our parents taught us. Treat people right. I really think that's why we're here today."
"It was so special for me to be the one to induct the Oaks into the Hall of Fame, and I am flattered that they asked me. We have been such good friends for so many years and had an incredible time together out on the road. I'm so happy to see them receive this well-deserved honor for all they have done for Country Music," Kenny Rogers said."
